Product Details
The WHO Testing Cage for Arm-in-Cage (AIC) Bioassay Studies is a specialized research cage developed for mosquito repellency testing, attraction studies, and behavioral bioassays involving direct exposure of treated or untreated human skin.
The cage provides a controlled environment where mosquitoes can be observed while interacting with test subjects or chemical treatments. The design allows researchers to monitor landing, attraction, feeding behavior, and repellency responses during experimental trials.
The cage incorporates a unique combination of clear acrylic observation panels and fine nylon mesh ventilation panels, providing excellent visibility while maintaining adequate airflow for insect survival and natural behavior.
The front panel features a 20 cm diameter sleeve opening that allows comfortable insertion of the forearm during testing procedures. The bottom section includes a white acrylic base with a removable mirror, enabling researchers to observe mosquitoes landing beneath the arm without disturbing the test.
For routine cleaning and maintenance, the entire top section is removable, allowing easy access to all internal surfaces. This feature helps prevent contamination between experiments and supports proper laboratory hygiene.
Constructed using modular aluminum profiles with interlocking assembly edges, the cage can be easily assembled, dismantled, transported, and stored. The modular design makes it suitable for laboratories, research institutions, universities, and field research facilities.
The cage is supplied in knock-down (KD) form with assembly instructions, enabling quick installation without specialized tools.
