flek-AL-N-M Series
The flek-AL-N-M Series insect cages are modular, flat-pack rearing units crafted for laboratory and field research involving mosquito-sized insects and other small arthropods. Built with a strong aluminum profile frame and nylon mesh on all sides, these cages are designed for optimal airflow, visibility, and durability in entomological studies.
In this model series:
flek stands for flexible/dismantlable – cages are shipped flat and assembled by the user without tools
AL indicates a robust aluminum frame that resists corrosion and frequent use
N denotes use of standard nylon mesh (~650 µm), suitable for most mosquito-sized insects
M means all panels are mesh, promoting excellent ventilation
Each cage features a front sleeve opening to facilitate insect handling, feeding, or sampling while minimizing escape. The clean, obstruction-free interior helps reduce insect hiding and simplifies cleaning.
The flek-AL-N-M Series is ideal for:
Mosquito colony maintenance
Feeding or mating experiments
Bioassay studies
Insect containment during transport or field trials
These cages are widely used in vector control programs, agricultural insectaries, and public health labs where reusability, portability, and visibility are key. Their lightweight, durable design offers a modern alternative to traditional wooden cages.
