The Human-baited Double Net Trap (HDNT) consists of two box nets (inner and outer nets). The inner net 200 cm high × 200 cm long × 100 cm wide that fully protects a human volunteer who sits on a chair. The outer net 180 cm high × 250 cm long × 150 cm wide is hung over the inner net and raised 30 cm off the ground. Mosquitoes attracted to the human-bait are collected by setting a CDC light trap between the two nets or the insect collector can move around the space between the net to do collections.

The Human-baited Double Net Trap (HDNT) consists of two box nets (inner and outer nets). The inner net 200 cm high × 200 cm long × 100 cm wide that fully protects a human volunteer who sits on a chair. The outer net 180 cm high × 250 cm long × 150 cm wide is hung over the inner net and raised 30 cm off the ground. Mosquitoes attracted to the human-bait are collected by setting a CDC light trap between the two nets or the insect collector can move around the space between the net to do collections. We have improved the double net by designing a single top for both of the inner and outer net so that mosquitoes won't rest on the top of the inner net if we provide gap on top side (please see the picture). The HDNT is an exposure-free tool since the lured mosquitoes are captured by the either CDC-UV dual light trap or by an insect collector. Outdoor mosquito sampling using the HDNT was designed to do a daytime collections for couple of hours.
