Ento Strainer
A typical leaf litter sieve consists of a gauze with holes of approximately in microns to mm in apertures. The entomologist places handfuls of leaf litter into the sieve, which is placed above a white sheet or tray. The sieve is shaken, and insects are separated from the leaf litter and fall out onto the screen for further investigations. We have a assorted collection of entomological sieves of 4, 2, 1 and 0.25mm.
The screen is made of high quality, 304 grade, certified wire mesh for perfect screening. The side rim is made of brass which is known to resist the water. The mesh is machine inserted into the rim and the sides are plastered with the plastic gum for closing the contact point to reject the possibility of hiding immatures larvae.
