The Dark Field Condenser Attachment is designed for observing transparent and low-contrast specimens by producing a dark background with bright, well-defined specimen details. It works by blocking direct light from entering the objective, allowing only scattered light from the specimen to be captured, making fine structures clearly visible.
The system includes an immersion-type dark field condenser with centering screws (NA 1.20–1.35) and achromatic objectives (10× oil, 100× oil) with an iris diaphragm , enabling use in both dark field and bright field modes. This attachment is ideal for plankton studies, microbiology, live specimen observation, and research applications where enhanced contrast without staining is required.
